Play Time with Addie

Everyone is doing great! Addie still seems to have her days and nights mixed up which has exhausted mom and dad. She is a very happy baby though who loves to squirm and be held. She has been eating really well (which makes for A LOT of dirty diapers) and is growing fast. We are looking forward to our first family visitor, Gramma Tammy, who will arrive this week.

Bailey loves his little sister. He is very protective and gets quite concerned when Addie is in her swing or on the floor. He must think she is in danger...

Bath Time

Addie gets only a sponge bath until her umbilical cord falls out. Her favorite part is getting her hair washed underneath the kitchen sink.

Home at Last

Little Adelaide has now been home for a few days and is doing wonderful despite having her days and nights a little mixed up... She met Bailey a couple of nights ago and they are already the best of friends. He is the first to the side of her crib when she whimpers, is hovering over every diaper change, and supervises all of the feedings. The baby even seems to make him a little less neurotic around the house.
Addie had her first appointment at the pediatrician's office this afternoon and left with a clean bill of health. She also made her first appearance on Skype when she visited with Grammy and Grand Dude all the way out in Colorado.

Ever seen an Alien?

So, I was told that the baby will move less as she gets bigger and as she gets closer to being born. If this video is any indication, this girl is not coming out any time soon. Enjoy!

This baby better be a girl...

So there is no sign of the baby yet, apparently she just wants to hang out in my belly rather then come out! Since Brad and I are just passing the time waiting, we thought we would post of pics of the nursery to share. Since we are renting we decided not to paint the walls, but we think it still turned out pretty good. Brad build the shelf above the crib (He's so handy :) Thanks to Brad's Grandma for the gift of the crib, and my sisters for the changing table. As you can see, with the amount of pink in the room the doctors better be right about this baby being a girl!

She's a RYAN

Here we are on February 12th, three days after Meg's due date, with no baby. I guess she must take after her mother as she is already late for her first appointment with the hospital...
Meg is uncomfortable but still feeling good. Our friend Amy thinks that she is in pre-labor which is good news for all you eager family members. Stay tuned as we get ready to grab our bags and rush off to the maternity ward.

Almost a week away!

With the month of January almost behind us, that means the baby coutdown is at T minus 9 days and counting! Here is a picture of the baby belly, maybe for the last time. She is a very active little girl, and sometimes it looks like I have an alien in my belly the way my stomach shifts around! The doctor says he is amazed at how good my pregnancy has been so far, and I am hoping that holds true for the delivery as well!

I have also included some pics from the two wonderful baby showers (one hosted in Chicago by my new stepmom Barb and the other in CT by by good friend Amy). They were both such a great time, and this little girl will be much more fashionable then her mom with all the cute new clothes!

Here's to the new year, and the next update which will hopefully include some new baby photos! Brad is in charge of the hospital notification, so if you get a message from him in the next week or so you will know why :)

One month to go!

Here is a picture of the growing belly at 4 weeks to go! We have been working hard at getting everything ready before she arrives... last week we cleaned the entire house and rearranged almost all the furniture (thanks to our friends Mike and Clint for their help). Funny thing is Brad was the motivation behind all the hard work; I think he has the "nesting" compulsion already!
We are still working on the nursery, and when it gets further along we will get some pictures up for everyone. We hope you are all staying warm in this winter chill!
