Our little chiquita banana

Seven months old and so grown up!  Adelaide is a crawling master (her new favorite game is to make a beeline for the dogs water bowl until we run to stop her) and is now pulling herself up and "crusing" around holding on to the couch or her walker (pictured).  We had a visit from Grammy and Grandude this past week, and we were glad they were able to celebrate the big 7 month milestone with us.  Grammy taught Addie how to wave and clap her hands. The funniest thing happend when I went to get her at 3am last night as she was crying in her crib, as as soon as I showed up she stopped crying and started clapping. This girl apparently has trained me well.....

Last Days of Summer

Since school is starting and fall is on its way, we have been trying to take advantage of the nice weather here before it is gone! Here are some pictures of Addie's big beach adventure, a hike in our neighborhood nature preserve, and of her favorite activity, bath time. She is now fully mobile, and can scoot along with the best of them. She has said her first word "mama" :) Our only worry is that she does not run off to the circus when she gets older, since she seems to really love the juggling acts.

Happy 1/2 Birthday Addie!

Adelaide celebrated her six month birthday last week with some mashed up pears and sweet potatoes.  Sorry dad, no cake for this one.... : (

She has been working hard to get a little more mobile and has nearly figured out how to crawl. Check out the video from earlier this afternoon:

Growing Baby

Its been an exciting month! Adelaide has started eating "real" food, and has her daddy's appetite. She already has two teeth (front bottom) and it really hurts when she bites down on your finger! She loves to exercise her vocal cords, and seems like every day she tries to get louder and higher pitched then before. She is not crawling yet (you can tell she is thinking about it) but she can "schooch" herself backwards, and it is hilarious to watch her try to follow the dog around the living room.

We enjoyed a visit from our friends Marisa and Brian who came to see us from Chicago. We introduced them to a New England boil... and as you can see, Addie wanted to play with the food.

Next, Grandpa John stayed with the girls while Brad went on his final sailing trip. I don't know what he misses more now that he is gone, Addie or the Navy Exchange :)
A few more days and the little one turns 6 months old! Keep an eye out for some 1/2 birthday pics soon!

150 Days (5 Months) Old

Hi everyone.  We have been busy!  Earlier this week we returned from a week-long visit to see the Brunaugh-Laurita family in Colorado.  Adelaide met her entire extended family including her great grandmother Pat who traveled from Arizona.  We had a great time and even had a chance to have a little fun.  Thanks Grammy for babysitting!

Nana Tammy and Papa Jim have been visiting for the last few days and they are ready to leave for Chicago in the morning.  Its been great visiting with them.  A big thank you is also in order for helping us get a few things done around the house!

Nautical Gal

Hello all!  Sorry there have been no posts for a while, Brad has been out sailing for the summer and watching Addie by myself is a full time job.  We have had a fun summer so far.  I don't know how much Addie liked her first boat trip, but I loved it because the rocking of the boat put her straight to sleep.. that boat is a miracle!
The girls traveled to Newport to visit Brad when he made a port call right downtown.  His boat, the Stormy Petrel, was nowhere close to the nicest boat in the harbor... but that's okay, they do look good in their sailing caps.

4 months gone by....

Sorry we have not updated the blog for a while, things have been busy (as always :) Brad has been gone, doing his summer assignment sailing around New England in a 44' sloop, training 2/c cadets.  While he has been away, I have been enjoying the "mommy" time with Addie, but also have an internship with an Advertising Agency that I am working on whenever the little one sleeps.

I can't believe how much she has grown in 4 months... .she now rolls all over the floor, back to front, front to back. We can't leave her alone anymore because we never know where she is going to roll off to!  Her new favorite pastime is the Jump-a-roo; she can play in that for an hour just bouncing (whoever invented that toy is an absolute genius!)  Here is a link to a video of her in her favorite toy:

We had a stressful past few days, as we found a lump in Bailey's lymph node in his neck, and the doctor had to test it to make sure it was not cancer.  Turns out it was just an infection, and he will be fine.  We figured since the dog is recovering he should get some blog attention, so here he is watching over Addie to make sure she is safe.

Tomorrow is Brad's first Father's Day, and we are going to celebrate by taking out the boat for its first voyage of 2010 and hopefully catching some fish for dinner.  If anyone wants to get up at 4:30am to join us, come on by!

First family vacation

We just got back from our first family vacation to Chicago.  Addie did very good on her first airplane round trip, only crying for a few minutes when we first walked onto the plane... although it was horrible to walk down the isle holding a screaming baby and getting all the dirty looks from the other passengers!
She got to meet all of her Chicago extended family, and even her Uncle Jack came in from Indiana for the visit.
Addie also hit a big milestone, turning over for the first time on Memorial Day!  Her Aunt Maura was cheering her on, and with the whole family watching, she flipped from her back to her front.  We have uploaded a repeat performance.  Overall, it was a wonderful trip!
